While we pray and wait for an answer from God, God also asks and waits for answer from us. We pray, “O Lord bless me” while God asks, “Where will I bless?”. As we wait for the answer to the prayer, God also waits for the answer to His question.
After God created the heaven and the earth, there was no man to till the ground so God did not send down the rain not until He made man. (See Genesis 2:5). It would be of no need sending rain on earth while nobody would cultivate it. Therefore God had to first make man before rain. Many at times had we prayed to God to send down rains of blessing without making ourselves available to till the ground.
It is like a man without a wife praying for the fruit of the womb. Does such man want to be another Virgin Mary? If you are a man praying for the fruit of the womb, first go and marry a wife and the Lord will answer your prayer. If you are a man praying for money, first go and start up a business and the Lord will answer you.
You want to travel but no transport fare, why still stay at home after you have prayed? Why not take a step of faith to the park? Prayer without faith is sin and faith without work is dead. (see Romans 14:23, James 2:17,26). God is always looking for a way to bless us. Why not make an enabling environment for the Lord to bless you? Look for a legitimate business to do, pay your tithe and leave the rest to God.
Recall what happened between Elisha and the widow in 2kings 4:1-7. In verse number six, it says “Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, ” Bring me another vessel”. And he said to her, “There is not another vessel” so the oil ceased. ” Why would the oil not cease if there was no other vessel to pour it? For the fact that the widow asked for another vessel simply implies that she was not really satisfied with what she had but she was unable to make extra vessels available.
This scenario is what is happening in our lives today. We would pray for oil but we would not provide vessel for it. First make much vessels available and see if God will not answer your fervent and effectual prayer of faith by providing the required oil.
If you are sick and are praying for God’s healing, then rise up from that sick bed with faith. The Bible says, “Let the weak say ‘I am strong ‘ “. (Joel 3:10) If you have said this word in truth and in Spirit, what are you waiting for there in the sick bed? Why not rise up as one that is healed?
There are so many business around you that you can do. Just look around and lay your hands on something legitimate and Good will send down rains of blessings and oils of anointing into your life.
