The Minister of state for environment, Ibrahim Usman Jibrin has resigned his portfolio after emerging as the Emir of Nasarawa.
He tendered his resignation at the ongoing Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari. A valedictory session was held for him.
Mr. President had earlier referred to Jibrin as “Your Highness”, at the beginning of the meeting which caused general laughter in the council chamber.
Jibrin was appointed and later confirmed by the Nigerian Senate as the Minister of State for Environment in December 2015.
